Success and Expansion in the Field Earns Crown's Logistics Division Recognition from Industry Leaders

HONG KONG, Dec. 3, 2008—Crown Logistics, a leading provider of freight forwarding, energy logistics and third-party distribution has been selected above competitors in the field for the Hong Kong Logistics Award for Medium-sized Enterprise, 2008.

Crown was nominated for the first time this year and came away with the award, which was presented at the Logistics Awards presentation dinner on November 27. There were companies representing the six categories of Service and Technology Innovation, Small-sized Enterprise, Medium-sized Enterprise, Enterprise, Greater China partnership and People Development.

Crown Hong Kong's Logistics division, headed by general manager Analdo Li, has been operating since 1994 and provides services to an exclusive clientele such as Alfred Dunhill, Body Shop, G.O.D, Christian Dior, Fancl House and Shanghai Tang.

Li said, "It is indeed a great honor to be recognized with one of the most prestigious awards of the logistics industry in Hong Kong; not only is it an endorsement and encouragement for what we have done in the past, this award is also a benchmark for our company to propel our service level to the highest standard for the logistics industry in Hong Kong."

Qualified organizations are nominated for consideration and those selected for the respective categories are assessed accordingly. Crown Logistics was assessed using the following criteria: Leadership with well-defined business strategy and clear organizational management processes; proven results in quality and cost management, and customer service business result and outstanding operational KPI; service profile and contribution to industry and society.

The judging panel consisted of representatives from Hong Kong Logistics Development Council, academic institutions, the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transportation in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics and the Hong Kong Logistics Association.

The logistics industry has been expanding in Hong Kong since 1994, and is now flourishing in other areas such as Shanghai, where Li has set up a distribution center. He will further expand for Crown with a second phase of the Shanghai facility scheduled for completion in early 2009.

Logistics is one of the fast-growing industries in Hong Kong, contributing more than 5 percent of the country's GDP. The key organizations in this field recognize and honor outstanding logistics companies and professionals with the awards each year.
