Singapore Singapore's four million people represent a multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-lingual mix. The three main races are Chinese, Malay and Indian. Many Chinese and Indians are Christian and celebrate Christmas in the traditional manner by attending church, both midnight mass and Christmas day morning services. Gifts are exchanged with friends and relatives. There are many other prominent religions in Singapore, including Buddhism, Taoism, Islam and Hinduism. Each religion celebrates their own festivals at various times of the year and many do so by enjoying the general Christmas spirit and celebrating it to various degrees.
