2007 Top 10
New Year's "International Travel Resolutions"

In just about every corner of the world, people will be celebrating and welcoming in 2007 on January 1st. Many of these people will make New Year's Resolutions and resolve that the rest of the year will be better than the year before. In 2007, as global industry continues to flourish, international travel will also continue to increase, and more "travel resolutions" are likely to be made.

Beginning on January 1, 2007:

  1. I will make all airline reservations at least one month in advance to optimize fares and seat assignments.

  2. I will join at least two "hotel chain loyalty programs" so that I can earn discounts and upgrades.

  3. I will remember to bring and use the international currency that's been taking up space in my wallet since my last two trips, and I will not allow various foreign currencies to get mixed together in my wallet.

  4. I will shop in each city so I can return home with at least one local item to remember my trip and will avoid buying family gifts at the airport shops.

  5. I will always carry a pen on me and will fill out my immigration and customs paperwork while I am still on the plane and can easily access my travel documents.

  6. I will bring running shoes, make sure they come out of my suitcase and are used for exercise.

  7. I will carry my wireless internet adaptor so I can work comfortably anywhere in my hotel room.

  8. I will remember to pack my house/car keys and electric convertors in my carry on bag just in case my checked luggage goes missing.

  9. I will make a photocopy of my passport and pack it in a separate suitcase.

  10. I will make the time to call my personal credit card companies to alert them that I will be traveling and using my personal credit cards outside of my home country.
