Crown Beijing Adopts Kindergarten as Part of its CSR

Crown Beijing, a corporate citizen of Majuqiao town in southeast Beijing, organized a wonderful afternoon of fun for the children of a special kindergarten on the June 5, 2009, in partnership with the local Majuqiao government. Unlike most kindergartens, this one is dedicated to children of parents from regions outside Beijing who do not receive the same benefits–such as educational funding for their children–as local Beijing residents.

The construction of this special kindergarten has been relatively slow and there aren't many areas for children to play, so for International Children's Day, the Crown Beijing team went into action and built its famous Crown-box tunnels for all the children to enjoy and it delighted all of the children, teachers, and parents alike at this ground-breaking event in Crown Beijing's local community.

Present at the event were the head of the Majuqiao government, the director of the Tongzhou Logistics Park (where Crown's Ultracenter is located), Crown Beijing's regional manager, North China and Mongolia, Jimmy Thompson, and Crown's deputy general manager HHG and GMS, Jay Clifton. Their presence indicated the importance that all the stakeholders attach to corporate social responsibility and good corporate citizenship.

Shirley Wan, director of the Tongzhou Logistics Park, said: "We were pleasantly surprised by the initiative Crown has taken to reach out to the local community, which will certainly serve as an example of corporate social responsibility for other companies in our community."
