GMS Runs Global Passport® Trainings Across Asia

The Global Mobility Services team has been conducting a series of intercultural training sessions for Human Resources managers across Asia—from Beijing in the North to Kuala Lumpur in the South.

The guest trainer, Keith Teo, from Singapore, conducted workshops for HR clients entitled, "Global HR: Embracing Cultural Differences, Excelling Across Borders," in multiple locations, in early 2008, such as Kuala Lumpur, on April 16th, Hong Kong, on April 23th, and Macau, on April 24th.

Among the participants were representatives from Bloomberg, Pernod Ricard, WestLB Bank, Logitech, The Venetian, Wynn Hotel & Resorts, Melco-Crown and many others.

Mr. Teo also held a session at the Crown Wine Cellar on the topic, "Dilemma of Trust," which was attended by key Organization & Development personnel in Hong Kong.

The Beijing workshop was conducted by the Beijing-based trainer, Michael Langer, who discussed "Bridging the Cross-Cultural Divide: East and West" to attending HR clients, on April 29th. Crown Worldwide chairman, Jim Thompson, also attended the event and addressed the participants.

On June 10th, it was time for Shanghai, where trainer Christoph Worschech spoke on "Cross Cultural Communication."

After the Global Passport® session, I was thinking about all the points raised and have incorporated key elements into my plan of how I want to engage with my Indonesian staff and key stake holders.
