India's First Global Passport® Seminar

Crown's first Global Passport® seminar in India was conducted in Bangalore on June 5 2008. The seminar was held at the Oberoi Hotel, in the city centre, and was attended by the HR Fraternity with representatives from some of the major multinational corporations based in Bangalore.

The seminar started with a welcome address by ES Chandramouli, Crown’s managing director, South Asia, who spoke about Crown's commitment in India.

Crown Relocations' specialized trainer, Vivek Saxena, was the speaker and presented the dynamics of various cultures of the world and how each differs from the other. This seminar focused on educating the HR community on the their critical role in understanding cultural dynamics and their relevance when an employee is hired for, or relocated to, a different culture and how to address culture shock in order to make an assignment successful.

The seminar also included practical exercises where participants had to brainstorm and come up with their views on various cultural issues based not only on geography, but also on scope of work.

The seminar was well received by the participants. They all learned something new; they realized the importance of a cultural training program for their international assignees and the relevance of Crown's Global Passport®. The session ended with refreshments and networking opportunities for all participants.
