Crown Shell Beijing Receives Global Passport
Earlier this year, Norah Franchetti, Crown's vice president of Learning and Development, conducted an intercultural and behavioral workshop for Crown Malaysia's Shell team and Shell People Services, Asia. The purpose of the workshop was to enable the Shell team and Shell to better understand each other's roles and characters, and to strengthen relationship ties.
Success breeds success and with such positive feedback from the participants of the workshop in Kuala Lumpur Link, on July 14 an abridged version was extended to Crown Beijing's Shell team (CNSHL), Shell China Limited (SCL) and Shell China Exploration & Production Co. Ltd. (SCEPCo).

In true demonstration of Crown's commitment and investment in the working relationship with Shell, invitations were extended to participants from HR, HRiTB and Finance of SCL and SCEPCO. Twelve participants from Shell and Crown attended the half-day workshop held at Traders Hotel Beijing and conducted by Global Passport Trainer, Jeremy Wong.
Jeremy discussed cultural dimensions, interpretation of values & cross cultural comparison and the participants took part in exercises including interpretation of Shell core values and sketches in making recruitment ads for Shell. The session ended with lunch and further networking among participants.
Tracy Li, AP finance manager, SCL, said "one of the most valuable aspects of the session was the sharing of differences in values; the outcome will help me when working with people from different countries."
Joey Xiong, HR Advisor SCEPCo, added, "Discussions about Shell's core values: honesty, integrity and respect were interesting."
Jan Gregory, regional Client Account manager for Shell, discussed her perspectives and experience with different cultures while working with Shell for many locations within the region. Jan commented: "From my perspective I thought it was a good session, there was a lot of participation from the delegates which is always a good sign, in my book."
