Global Passport® Picks Trainers of the Year for 2009

Crown's very own intercultural training program, Global Passport®, has been running in APAC since 2006 and in EMEA since early 2009. During that time the number of trainers in the network has grown considerably and the feedback from customers who have undergone training has been very positive.

Because of this Crown recently took time to recognize the Global Passport® trainers who are responsible for making the training sessions a truly important and beneficial experience for all those involved. All 32 trainers in APAC and 45 in EMEA deserve a very big "thank you" for their continuous support and professionalism. However, in February, one specific trainer in each region was awarded the prestigious Global Passport® Trainer of the Year award, for 2009.

The two winners were awarded based on feedback from transferees, internal Crown reviews, the fact that their approach to training really stands out and that they've made a difference in the sessions they've conducted. The two very worthy winners were:

Donna Marsh (London)
Donna has been working with Crown since late spring, 2009 and has shown absolute commitment and flexibility in accommodating both our clients' and Crown's needs. From designing training sessions for assignees moving to the UK to providing pre-departure services for assignees moving to Singapore or Saudi Arabia, Donna has constantly shown her flexibility and accommodated our needs whenever possible. She has even given up part of a scuba holiday to assist with an HR event (Working in Multicultural Teams) in Dubai.

Among other positive comments received from assignees, about Donna, she has been described as really informative, friendly and flexible; very engaged, very knowledgeable; and as one who reads audiences needs very well.

Donna was very surprised but happy to receive the award, which was presented to her by Jim Thompson (on a recent trip to the UK), Shân Norman, director GMS, EMEA and Nicola Weinert, intercultural training coordinator.

Keith Teo (Singapore)
Keith has been working with Crown as an intercultural consultant since October 2006. In 2009, he conducted a number of GP relocation programs and worked with Crown to design and deliver customised group programs which were developed specifically to satisfy the clients' unique concerns. These included a recent workshop in India for a team of young professionals entitled "Working with the American Culture." Keith has also been a guest trainer for HR seminars in Hong Kong, Macau and Kuala Lumpur while supporting Crown's promotion of intercultural services to the local HR communities .

After the Global Passport® session, I was thinking about all the points raised and have incorporated key elements into my plan of how I want to engage with my Indonesian staff and key stake holders.
