1963 - A young American named Jim Thompson flew to Japan to learn about the Far East.

1965 - Jim Thompson, residing in Yokohama, Japan, with only US $1,000 in his bank account, established a small company in Yokohama called Transport Services International (TSI).

1970s - TSI expanded to Hong Kong and throughout Asia into Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and other Asia Pacific locations.

1971 - James Thompson, Senior acquired Dean Forwarding in the USA, specializing in military household good shipments and expanded its American operations.

1975 - To reflect the company’s growth throughout Asia, TSI was renamed Crown Pacific.

1983 - Realized there was a need to manage the explosion of physical and electronic business information and established Crown Records Management.

1989 - Acquired Scotpac International Removals, expanding operations into the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the Middle East. The company later acquired Steens International expanding the company to the Netherlands and Belgium.

1994 - Acquired Grace Removals and Grace Records Management in Australia.

In 1994, the company also made a strategic decision to unify the company under its current name: The Crown Worldwide Group.

1999 - The company expanded into fine arts transportation and acquired Lavanchy, a highly-regarded fine art transportation company.

2000 - The company acquired Calvert Worldwide Movers in Southern Africa, gaining presence in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Botswana.

2002 - Opened Crown's first Wine Cellars in Hong Kong, which was later followed by Beijing and Shanghai.

2005 - Entered partnership with Wheaton World Wide Moving, a major U.S. Vanline enhancing its U.S. domestic capabilities.

2006 - Acquired Pickfords Records Management expanding its Records Management geographic scope across the UK & Ireland.

Today - The Crown Worldwide Group is one of the most recognized and respected names in international relocations, logistics, fine arts transportation and records management.
