Breaking Ground in Beijing!

On the morning of April 28th, Crown Worldwide held the Ground Breaking Ceremony for its new facility in Beijing, China. Among those present at this momentous event were Jim Thompson, Crown Chairman; Billy Wong, Managing Director, Greater China; Jimmy Thompson, Regional Manager, North China and Mongolia and Analdo Li, Logistics General Manager for the region.

In front of over 40 people, including the American Chamber of Commerce, a few key corporate clients, guests from the local government and Crown staff, Jim Thompson gave an inspiring speech on Crown and the efforts the company has made to become a vital part of the region's community and industry. The new facility supports Crown's commitment to growing its presence throughout the region. Crown Beijing joins Crown's facilities in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Taiwan and a 1.7 acre, 86,000 square foot facility in Shanghai that opened for business in 2005.

"The size and quality of this new facility will represent Crown well in China, and allow us to provide a superior level of services and maximum security for our clients' important and valuable assets - be it household goods, business records, or cargo," said Jimmy Thompson. "With this modern facility, Crown aims to be the leader in the Beijing market for all of our services."

Completion of the Beijing facility is scheduled for January, 2007. Elements of the office include five floors of office space and three floors of warehouse space, which will be dedicated to the Household Goods, Records Management and Logistics businesses. To ensure the security of the facility, state-of-the-art systems will be put in place, as well as humidity and temperature control monitors to protect inventory throughout the year.

With this new facility, Crown has taken another step toward the ultimate goal of providing the best and most efficient services to clients in China, the surrounding regions and across the globe.
