Nice Shopping

What are the items that I should bring with me because they’re not available (or are too expensive) where I am going?
The Riviera is very cosmopolitan so most food items that you are used to in your homeland can be found here. There are quite a few shops that specialize in British foodstuffs, where you can buy anything you would need or like if you are British, Canadian or American. Also many of the local supermarkets tend to have an "International" section where you can buy British, Indian or Mexican specialties.

Compared to the US, sporting goods can be quite expensive, so if you have the opportunity to bring over your bicycles and skiing equipment, then it is advisable.

Please note that the Europeans are in Region 2 for DVDs, which means that Region 1 DVDs cannot be read in a regular DVD player. So if you are bringing over your collection of DVDs, you will have to buy a multi-regional DVD player once you arrive in Europe.

Where can other household items (such as cleaning materials and home furnishings) be found?
The Côte d'Azur has few indoor shopping centers, or malls. Instead there are many pedestrians-only blocks in town centers, with many small, independent boutiques.

There are numerous commercial centers (Centres Commerciaux) with shops and services available
alongside the supermarkets.
