Shopping in Hawaii is exciting and fun and chances are you will find exactly what you need. If you can't find what you need on the smaller islands you definitely will on the larger ones. As Honolulu is such an international city, there is a good chance you will be able to find many of the items you are accustomed to.

Will anyone have particular trouble finding clothes that fit?

Finding a particular size should not be a problem. Hawaii has clothing available in all sizes. There are also many seamstresses’ on the islands who can sew just about anything requested.

What grocery stores do expats in your city shop at?

Most people shop at the local grocery stores such as, Safeway and Star Market. There are also the bulk buy stores like Sams Club and Costco, but you need a membership in order to shop at them. The membership clubs are very popular for larger families and annual memberships can be initiated at the stores.

Where can other household items (such as cleaning materials and home furnishings) be found?

Household cleaning products can be found in most of the grocery stores or super stores such as K-Mart and Wal-Mart. You can also find such items at Sams Club and Costco, including home furnishings. On the larger islands, you will find shopping malls or outlets that will most likely have anything you need or want.
