Kobe Shopping

What are the items that I should bring with me because they’re not available (or are too expensive) where I am going?
Bed linens and towels are expensive, as are beds. Baby clothing is often too small for foreign babies. Also note that a good supply of over-the-counter drugs should be brought. If needed, bring disposable contact lenses as well.

Will anyone have particular trouble finding clothes that fit?
Large sizes are more difficult to find, although there are now more "big and tall" stores than in the past

What grocery stores do expats in your city shop at?
There are local mega-shopping centers, called supermarkets that stock many foreign items, as well as Costco and Carrefour. There are also mail-order services specializing in products from North America and Commonwealth countries.

Where can other household items (such as cleaning materials and home furnishings) be found?
Cleaning items can be found at supermarkets, as well as at drug stores. Home furnishings are abundant at department stores.

What are factors that might affect my shopping habits in this country/city?
Price & Japanese language are written on the products
