What are the items that I should bring with me because they’re not available (or are too expensive) where I am going?

You can ask co-workers and friends whether the item you want to bring is affordable or even available in Toronto. In addition, because Toronto residents reflect such diversity, there’s a great possibility that an ethnic or specialty store may cater to your requirements. For example, Toronto has the largest Portuguese community in North America, and one of the largest Italian communities outside of Italy.

Little India, on Gerrard Street near Coxwell Avenue, offers exotic and affordable restaurants, clothing and grocery stores to explore. Greek Town, along Danforth Avenue, offers similar diversions. There are also several distinct Chinatowns in the GTA. These include Gerrard and Broadview, Spadina and Dundas in the mid-town area and Agincourt, Mississauga and Markham in the surrounding area.
