Cambodia’s oldest newspaper recently featured an interview with Jim Thompson, Crown’s founder and chairman, as he announced the company’s latest community project, to open a library in the Klandieng district of Pursat province.

In the interview, in the Post’s American Independence day edition, Mr Thompson described his long-term dedication to community projects, which have seen him donate schools and libraries elsewhere in the country.

“Our commitment to corporate social responsibility has helped give our company a soul,” explained Mr Thompson, “And this has made our staff all over the world proud to be part of Crown."

Since founding the company in 1965, Jim Thompson has held firm to core principles, which have made Crown the successful company it is today.

Frank Kursteiner, Crown’s manager in Cambodia expressed his joy for the new library: “Our founder Jim Thompson has invested very big in Cambodia,” he explained, “It makes me glad that our company is able to make a difference in people’s lives.”
