There is not as much variety as the larger New Zealand cities, but Tauranga does have a wide variety of clothing shops.

What grocery stores do expats in your city shop at?
Tauranga and its beachside suburbs have the same variety of supermarkets as other larger centers. They include Countdown, PAK'nSAVE and New World. A small Indian and Asian foodmarket also operates in Tauranga. Many locals buy their fresh produce from roadside stalls. Groceries can also be purchased at petrol service stations and local mini-marts, called Dairies.

Where can other household items (such as cleaning materials and home furnishings) be found?
A wide range of cleaning materials can be purchased at the supermarkets. Home furnishings can be purchased in a wide range of stores. Check the Yellow Pages for a complete list.

What are factors that might affect my shopping habits in this country/city?
Most large shopping malls are open seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with at least one late night a week when the shops stay open until 9:00 p.m.
