Designer clothes are much more expensive in Qingdao. But on the whole, things are very cheap. You can buy great antique-style Chinese furniture in Qingdao. You can also have furniture custom made. Low-fat dairy products are hard to find in the supermarket. You may also have trouble buying meat if you can't read Chinese. Be prepared to bargain for everything (except in big shops).
