Warsaw has a variety of professional medical care centers and clinics. Generally, you can be referred to a provider by your employer. You may also consult with chambers of commerce.

Do expats in the area tend to leave the city/area/country to seek medical care? If so, why and where do they go?
For very complicated surgery, some expats will leave Poland. However, please note that the level of medical care and professionalism of Polish doctors is very high, so this may not really be necessary.

How will I recognize a pharmacy? What is it called in the local language?
There are a lot of pharmacies around Warsaw. In Polish, look for the word “apteka.” A green cross sign is common, but not all pharmacies are marked like this.
