How close-knit is the expat community in this area? How do I get involved with it?

There are numerous ethnic communities such as Chinatown, Quartier Latin, Little Italy and numerous other smaller communities. While expatriates may not necessarily live in those communities, you are likely to find them grocery shopping, dining, and enjoying the entertainment these quartiers provide. You can get involved by simply getting out there, and joining in cultural festivities and celebrations.
