    General Relocation FAQs

All of our proposals are door-to-door inclusive, unless stated/requested otherwise. We would send you this within 48-72 hours from the day you register on our website.
Our in-home and virtual surveys are completely free of charge, we will encourage to have either of them for us to gauge the volume and prepare a quote according to the items you will be relocating.
Our consultants will coordinate directly with you to choose the best possible time. They are available for surveys from 9:30 a.m. – 5.30 p.m., Monday – Friday.
It depends on each country, but this will be a rough estimate:
    Within Asia-Pacific: 2 - 4 weeks approx.
Australia, New Zealand, Europe, USA, Canada: 5 - 7 weeks approx.
We usually suggest 1-2 months in advance, the sooner you start planning your move, the better.
You will have a Move Manager assigned at origin that would guide you through the process until destination. Crown has offices in 54 countries and most moves will be handled without any third-party agents, ensuring a high-quality service.
Fragile items, high value items, antiques, paintings, statues, pianos, mirrors, glass or marble tops, etc.
Our door-to-door service includes normal dismantling at origin and re-assembling of furniture, as long as no special handling is needed.
We highly recommend that our professional teams do the entire packing in order to reduce the chances of something breaking, being damaged, or lost during transit. We will pack with the highest quality items and prepare a detailed inventory for your reviewing. You will also be saving time, money, and effort by letting our teams’ do what they do best.

It depends on multiple factors such as the shipping line, route, time of the year, container shortages and port delays. Speak with a Move Manager who will be able to give you the most up to date information.

Most shipments require more than 7 days to deliver, so at present there is no requirement for disinfection.

Our packing and moving crews are taking the coronavirus pandemic very seriously. To that end, we have put into place protocols designed to protect our employees and our customers. These include:
    • Following local guidelines around social distancing and sanitization
    • Conducting virtual surveys instead of in-home surveys to provide estimates
    • Frequently sanitizing trucks and equipment
    • Practicing social distancing with customers and, as much as possible, among moving teams
    • Wearing masks and gloves
    • Keeping trucks stocked with hand sanitizer

All of these practices help ensure that moving services can remain available in a safe way. A virtual move estimate for example provides you with the same quote you’d expect any time you hire movers without the need to have someone enter your home.
Plan early, book early and be prepared for possible extra charges related to storage requirement, freight increases, a lengthened transit time.

People who book well in advance have a better likelihood of securing a container for your move date.
All of our quotes include normal customs clearance and all known charges. But customs may require a more extensive inspection that isn't covered. This procedure has stayed the same as before the pandemic.
