The Shanghai Labour Bureau recently announced that the provision of the original company reference letter is now mandatory to support Alien Employment License (AEL) applications.
Applicants were previously allowed to provide a scanned copy of a company reference letter certifying that they have at least two years’ relevant work experience. This new requirement took effect on July 1, 2016, and applications that do not contain an original document will be denied.
The above requirement applies to Employment Visa applications.
