How close-knit is the expat community in this area? How do I get involved with it?
It depends upon the nationality. There is a quite strong French community, and perhaps also the English one. For the other nationalities, there are not such close-knit communities. A good way to meet other expats is to read local blogs or newspapers (examples include Le Petit Journal and the American Women Association).
Beside expat groups, what is the best way to make social connections outside of work?
The best way of socializing here is to join clubs or associations that are of interest to you (cooking classes, reading classes, book clubs and music classes, for example).
Where can I meet other singles in this city?
You can meet other singles in the city center in various clubs and cafés.
Are there any unique networking opportunities for accompanying partners?
