To facilitate the application process and shorten the timeframe for applicants securing an M-visa, some authorities in Beijing and Shanghai have suspended the issuance of invitation letters. Invitation letters from the company are now accepted. There’s no official announcement of this arrangement but it takes effect immediately.
The Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Pudong District Foreign Affairs Office have stopped issuing invitation letters. However, the Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office, as well as the authorities in Chengdu, Chongqing, Dalian, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Tianjin and Xi’an, will continue to issue the letters without change.
Note: The acceptance of invitation letters from the company is beneficial to applicants for an M-visa. We recommend our clients to check with the local embassy or consulate as requirements can differ between locations. Crown will continue to monitor the progress and advise of any further developments.
