What are the items that I should bring with me because they’re not available (or are too expensive) where I am going?
Expats in Bangkok often miss salt and vinegar crisps (chips), sunblock, upscale cosmetics and hair products especially for western female. If you are able to find such items, they will be very expensive.
Will anyone have particular trouble finding clothes that fit?
Large sizes are very difficult to find. Many expats have clothes custom-made by a tailor.
What grocery stores do expats in your city shop at?
There are many options, including Tops, Villa Market, and Tesco Lotus.
Where can other household items (such as cleaning materials and home furnishings) be found?
You can find handy little shops for a variety of items all over Bangkok. In fact, you'll probably come across one just around the corner from anywhere you happen to be.
What are factors that might affect my shopping habits in this country/city?
You will probably spend some quality time with your credit card, as Thailand's incredibly low prices cause many expats to flex their shopping muscles quite a bit.
