In celebration of The Alice Smith School's 70th Anniversary this year, Crown Malaysia sponsored an inaugural business luncheon jointly organized with the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) on May 11 – one of the events that Crown Malaysia will be sponsoring throughout the year. This event saw the attendance of over 140 influential business leaders in Kuala Lumpur.

Former Alice Smith Alumni Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, Group Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Group, and Dato' Sri Nazir Tun Razak, Chairman of the CIMB Group, were among the guests. They shared memories and experiences on their journey to success from their schooling days in Alice Smith to where they are today in a engaging and enlightening session.

Representing Crown Malaysia, Leon Hulme, Managing Director, was seated at the VIP table along with Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, Dato' Sri Nazir Tun Razak, the British High Commissioner to Malaysia  H.E. Vicki Treadell CMG MVO, Managing Director of RBS and BMCC Chairman Andrew Sill and Head of the Alice Smith School Roger Schulz.

We showcased a short video during the event and received appreciation from both The Alice Smith School and BMCC for the ongoing support.

Leon Hulme commented:“We are delighted to support the Alice Smith School during its 70th Anniversary year. The event itself, which is one of several that we will be sponsoring this year, was very engaging and entertaining, and I think all the guests came away with something valuable from the insights provided by the two guest speakers. For me, the message of valuing your people and having a ‘can-do’ attitude came across strongly, and I’d like to think that the Alice Smith School was instrumental in these two famous guests early formation of these attributes.”
