Crown's Golden Relay
March 16, 2015
Crown is celebrating its 50th anniversary year! Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is placed high on the agenda within Crown. This year, the 50thanniversary will also include the celebration of Crown's Golden Relay project. As part of the 50th anniversary, each Crown country are organising a local charity event for children. The ultimate goal is that all 58 Crown offices jointly collect an amount of at least 50,000 USD. The country where Crown was firstly established (Japan) kicked off the charity event earlier this year, with the baton being handed over to the subsequent country where Crown opened their next office.
Crown Netherlands, will receive the baton in the month of May. Upon completion of our project, we will hand over the baton to the next country. At the end, Crown will increase the total amount which all countries raise together by a certain percentage. In the Netherlands we have chosen to support the Foundation ‘Babyspullen’. This foundation collects second hand as well as new baby items, that are then used to put together a baby starter pack. The packages are provided free of charge to parents experiencing financial difficulties. The distribution is done through various charitable agencies including for instance the Food Bank. In the Netherlands, 1 in every 9 children is growing up in poverty and in the big cities as many as 1 in 4. We at Crown believe that every child is entitled to a good start.
The Crown employees in the Netherlands will help with packing the baby parcels during the month of May. Our trucks will pick up the used and new baby clothing and merchandise at various collection points in the Netherlands. The Foundation Babyspullen will subsequently sort out the baby clothing and merchandise by quality.
