How well-equipped is Glasgow for those raising infants/toddlers? Specifically, are there public places to change diapers, maintained playgrounds, etc?

Glasgow is a fantastic city for raising children. There are public change rooms, many playgrounds (usually a couple within each neighborhood) and lots of parkland.

As with any large city or indeed any location, parental guidance and responsibility are important to a child's safety.

In the city centre, many nightclubs provide discos during the early evening. These are accessible by public transport. In addition, it can be fun for teenagers to be in the city for shopping and socializing with their friends. However, it would be best for them to return home before late evening to avoid any trouble.

Are there any organizations/social groups in the area that cater exclusively to young people ages 12-17?

Most areas of Glasgow have youth clubs. Your local school will be able to tell you about the one in your area. There are also the Scouts and Brownie organizations for boys and girls. These groups offer adventures, amusements and activities.

I want my child to get the most out of our stay in Glasgow. Are there any specific opportunities to teach young people about the local culture?

As Glasgow has been known as the 'City of Culture', there are always festivals and exhibitions going on in the galleries and museums. In addition, there are specific galleries and museums for well-known people such as Charles Rennie MackIntosh -- a famous Glasgow architect.
