What are some examples of these schools?
DESS (Doha English Speaking School) was established in 1971 under the sponsorship of the British Embassy. Today, it continues to provide a quality British education to over 500 English-speaking children from the age of 3 to 11. Other schools include Doha College, COMPASS school, ACS and Sherborne.

Qatar International School has grown from a small pre-school founded in 1977 to the largest independent British school in Qatar. There are now 1,200 students on the roll, ranging from 21 months to 17 years of age.

Lycee Bonaparte and Lycee Voltaire are French schools from kindergarten to Lycee.

Qatar Academy was founded in 1996 under the auspices of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. The Academy is a private, non-profit organization and occupies a magnificent campus on the outskirts of Doha. The Academy comprises Early Childhood Education, Primary and Senior Schools and takes boys and girls from pre-school to university entrance.

Yes, most schools have a waiting list.

Yes, including: Qatar International School, Gulf English School, American School of Doha, Doha English Speaking School, Park House English School and Petis Pas.

Mostly by their parents; some travel by school bus.
