Expats live all over the city; however many are finding housing in the Western, South western, South eastern and Northern areas of Houston. The names of these larger areas are: Katy, Memorial area, Sugarland, Clear Lake and The Woodlands. Houston's inner city is very popular among younger people. In the suburban areas people typically live in houses, but apartments are also available. Expats who are not going to live in Houston for more than about three years typically do not buy.
