Yangon Networking

How close-knit is the expat community in this area? How do I get involved with it?
Yangon's expats make up a very close-knit community and you will soon get to know everyone. Various embassies—including the British, American and Australian embassies—hold social nights once a month. You may wish to contact your embassy for details or call Crown Yangon for upcoming events.

There are also a number of social/business groups set up, including the Tuesday Club and the Forum.

Where can I meet other singles in this city?
The above places are commonly used for single expats to socialize with other expat singles. There are also a number of bars frequented by expats, including 50th Street and Mr. Guitar (popular among trendy locals).

Special events are also held at the large hotels like Traders, Savoy, etc. Also popular is the Friday night happy hour at the Strand, a great meeting place for expats and a good way to find out where the happening place will be that night!
