What are the items that I should bring with me because they’re not available (or are too expensive) where I am going?
Although houses can sometimes be rented with a cooking stove and/or refrigerator in place, we advise you to import your hard furnishings because purchasing them locally can be very expensive. As for food products, most items are available through local shopping stores and imported goods are available through Western-style supermarkets.
Will anyone have particular trouble finding clothes that fit?
There are major shopping centers, such as Sarit Centre and the Mall in Centre in Kilimani, Highridge Shopping Centre in Parklands, Muthaiga Shopping Centre, and the Village Market in Gigiri, where you can find most items very easily.
What grocery stores do expats in your city shop at?
The main supermarkets, where both local and imported goods can be found at the most reasonable prices, are the Uchumi and Nakumatt chains.
Where can other household items (such as cleaning materials and home furnishings) be found?
In the shopping malls, listed above.
