No; there is a wide variety of well-appointed private schools with many spaces available.
There is a waiting list for some full-time schools.

Yes, although not many are for children of expatriates; most are geared toward local children
How are most kids transported to and from school?
School buses are frequently chartered by the schools.
When does the typical school year start and end?
International schools tend to run from August to May. Local schools are from January to December.
