Getting to know our team: Kenneth Tobin

We spoke to our Sales Consultant, Kenneth Tobin about his experience working for Crown Relocations and his top tips to help you plan your next international move.

How long have you been working for Crown Relocations?

I have been with Crown since January 2014. I started as a part time Admin Support but have since progressed to my current role as Residential Sales Consultant.

Can you tell us about your role at Crown?

As a Residential Sales Consultant my job is to take care of the first steps of a customer’s move with us. This includes conducting any virtual or physical surveys to assess their move volume and provide a quote for how much it would cost to get the items they would like to take with them to their planned destination.

What has been the highlight of your time at Crown so far?

I have been with Crown for over eight years now and during that time there have been many highlights. It’s been a great place to learn and develop my skills. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with lots of colleagues from various different countries and cultures during my time which has been a great experience.

What do customers not often think about when planning their move?

A common concern I see is customers unsure on what to take and what to leave behind. My advice is always to see this as an opportunity to “loose some ballast”, to declutter and be sure about what they’re going to be taking with them.

Something else I would also advise is considerations on a workable timeline. Delays have been known to happen that are unfortunately out of our control and so my advice is to discuss timelines in advance, we’ll always try to accommodate your timeline and guide you on when it needs more flexibility.

What is your top tip for a smooth relocation?

Discuss your requirements openly with your sales consultant when you begin your move process with us. We’ll be able to make sure you’re well prepared. Also important to bear in mind that some flexibility on your timeline will be needed as sometimes things can take longer.

If you didn’t live in Germany, what would be your dream destination?

I have never really thought about this, but perhaps Scandinavia.
