What are factors that might affect my shopping habits in this country/city?
Because of the size of this city and the bad traffic, it can be a very time-consuming activity. If it's one of your primary hobbies, you might also need a car for this because there is not always a metro station nearby.

Will I need to drive my own vehicle to conduct my everyday life (work/school/shopping) at my destination?
No, as you can get a driver very easily and inexpensively. The public transportation system is very efficient although the metro is quite busy during rush hour. There are lots of inexpensive taxi services available: Uber, Yandex Taxi, Gett and Taxi.ru.
