The Zoo on Alexander Park 4 and amusement parks are very popular, particularly the Circus on Fontanka River Embankment 3.

Playing football or computer games. Ice hockey is also very popular. There are several venues where kids can play sports, including the Yubileyny Sports Palace (Dobrolyubova Avenue 8) and the St. Petersburg Sports and Culture Complex (Yury Gagarin Avenue 8).

What's it like to be a teenager in this city? Are there any particular challenges I should be aware of as a parent?
Beer, vodka and cigarettes are cheap and available everywhere in the city; the legal age of consumption is 18 but be advised that some kiosks sell these to minors! Parents are often warned about the use of drugs in school but it can also be a problem on the street.
