Residents of Houston typically shop at larger supermarkets like Randalls, Kroger and Fiesta. Wal-Mart has also opened supercenters that sell a full range of groceries in addition to housewares, clothing, toys and other staples at reasonable prices. Specialty food shops and international food stores can also be found all over Houston.

Household items are often purchased at large discount chain stores like Wal -Mart and Target. These stores are easily found near freeways or in most neighborhoods.

What are factors that might affect my shopping habits in this country/city?

Factors that might affect your shopping habits are price, special needs and also where you live. Most Houstonians are accustomed to driving far to do their shopping, but newcomers often prefer to shop closer to their home, especially until they become better oriented with Houston.
