Accra Visas & Permits

As a foreign resident, what is my status in your country?
Foreigners seeking to enter Ghana must have a valid passport and valid visa. You are also required to have a yellow fever vaccination certificate with you. Immigration does not ask for this every time but it will cause a problem if they do and you are unable to produce one.

ID cards are used to verify identity, but are only issued to permanent residents of Ghana. Passports are accepted throughout, so an ID card is not always necessary. Driver’s licenses are also accepted at all major banks as proof of Identity.
