Virtually everything is available. Perhaps bring some medicines for the transition period.

Clothes are available in all sizes and from a wide variety of labels, including Marks and Spencer. You can also easily find tailors to make clothes to your specifications.

What grocery stores do expats in your city shop at?
Grocery stores include hypermarkets, such as Carrefour and Lulu Hypermarket, the "expat" supermarkets at The Malls and several branches of the popular Al Fair Food Center and Sultan Centre.

Where can other household items (such as cleaning materials and home furnishings) be found?
The most popular store for home furnishings and cleaning accessories is Home Center (at the Muscat City Center mall or Madinat Qaboos). The oriental carpet stores (Kazerooni) offer a selection of Indian and other exotic furniture. For cheap household accessories, you can visit a souk (market).

What are factors that might affect my shopping habits in this country/city?
The opening hours are generally 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., but hypermarkets and up-market shops at the malls are open all day. On Fridays, shops open at 3 or 4 p.m.
