How well-equipped is this city for those raising infants/toddlers? Specifically, are there public places to change diapers, maintained playgrounds, etc?
Sweden is very well equipped for young children. Most public places provide facilities to entertain infants/toddlers and have playgrounds and toilet facilities that are very convenient for the parents.

What are the most popular kid-friendly attractions in the area?
Skansen Open-Air Museum and Zoo was founded in 1891 and is still one of the top ten attractions in Stockholm. See some 150 farmsteads assembled here from all over Sweden. Meet Nordic animals at the Zoo, "Mini-Skansen" and summer concerts. Enjoy Swedish traditional festivals, theme days and the famous Christmas market.
The amusement park Gröna Lund Tivoli is a must for the entire family. There are many attractions for the youngest ones in the family, such as the Flying Elephants and the Choo-Choo Train.
Many of Stockholm's museums and other attractions arrange activities for children. In the Postal Museum, children can dress up in child-sized postal uniforms and staple and sort mail. The Museum of Technology lets children explore and experience science in a fun way. Go for a ride in the mini subway at the Transport Museum. At the Observatory Museum, on Tuesdays if the sky is clear, you can watch the stars from a telescope. Aquaria Water Museum, Skansen Open-Air Museum and the Toy Museum are other museums children will enjoy visiting.
Leksaksland is neither a toy land for kids nor a traditional toy historical museum; it´s a modern museum with thematic toy exhibitions. Come and enjoy this heaven of toys and nostalgia! Disney, Barbie, Tintin, Lundby Dollhouses, Playmobil and Smurfs are just some examples of the different themes. Don´t miss the Scary room and be sure to let the kids play around in the play corner.
A favorite haunt of local kids and a top tourist attraction, Junibacken is a mini indoor theme park devoted to Pippi Long stocking and other characters.

What are the most popular activities for kids after school or on weekends?
Outdoor activities are skiing or skating in the winter or cycling and visiting the beach in summer. The parks offer some very beautiful spots for cycling and strolling. It is also common for the children to engage with sport activities through the schools or local club centers.

What's it like to be a teenager in this city? Are there any particular challenges I should be aware of as a parent?
Sweden offers different social and sport activities for the young. However, it is very common for them to spend times with their friends at private parties, or at pubs or clubs.
It is legal to drink under the age of 18, but it is illegal to sell, lend or give alcohol to someone under that age, and the police can seize alcohol from them.

Are there any organizations/social groups in the area that cater exclusively to young people ages 12-17?
Stockholm offers a number of sporting clubs, dances, gyms, etc. Many neighbourhood clubs offer sporting programs. Ask Crown Stockholm for details.

I want my child to get the most out of our stay in this country. Are there any specific opportunities to teach young people about the local culture?
There is nothing specific but there are certain traditions that they can enjoy: "Sportlov" - a vacation period when children can engage in many sports activities; "Midsommar" - a rich cultural event during mid-summer; "Lucia" - part of the Christmas celebration.
