At the American Moving and Storage Association convention in February, Move for Hunger recognized Crown Relocations New York as the recipient of the 2014 Mover of the Year award. Move for Hunger is a hunger relief organization that works with relocation companies to rescue non-perishable food items when people move, delivering them to food banks all across North America. The Mover of the Year award recognizes the important work performed by relocation companies that are part of the Move for Hunger network.
Out of over 600 relocation companies in the network, Crown Relocations New York was selected based on their commitment, dedication, impact and enthusiasm in the fight to end hunger. The company has delivered more than 10,000 lbs of collected food to food banks and pantries. They’ve extended that work to assist local pantries to transport food between distribution centers and have supported numerous local food drives.
In announcing the award, Adam Lowy, Executive Director of Move for Hunger, said “… Crown Relocations New York has made fighting hunger a part of how they do business. They’ve built helping the community into a core part of their daily process, and take pride in helping other moving companies improve their respective collection efforts to deliver even more lifesaving meals to the most needy.”
Move for Hunger posted the announcement and a moving video on their website. Crown Relocations is proud to support Move for Hunger as our premier corporate social responsibility charity. Congratulations, Bob Leotti, General Manager, and all of the Crown New York staff on being selected 2014 Mover of the Year!
