Apart from specialty items from your home country, you can buy anything you want.

For really tall people, it can be difficult to find pants that fit.

What grocery stores do expats in your city shop at?
There are some special (though expensive) shops for foreigners. Several supermarkets have also opened recently in St.Petersburg that offer most of what you need.

Where can other household items (such as cleaning materials and home furnishings) be found?
There are furniture shops outside of town and special designer shops in town. You can find electronic goods at shops called M.VIDEO, Eldorado, Tekhnosila and even markets where you can buy everything. There is a huge shopping mall on Nevskij Prospekt, called Gostinnyi Dvor, where you can buy expensive clothing, household goods and decorative items for your home.
