For or a number of years, Crown Shanghai has sponsored the logistics and organization of the 1,000 Smiles Clothing Drive. This drive benefits the economically challenged people living on the Tibetan Steppes in Qinghai Province. Villages in this area of Qinghai province suffer from an incredibly harsh climate, lack of sustainable economies and very little educational support. Through the 1,000 Smiles project, Crown helps to collect, transport, and deliver warm clothing, shoes, toys, and educational materials to those in need. Through Crown’s organization and sponsorship of the 2013 event, we brought together 22 corporate partners to participate in this worthy drive. Crown collected approximately 37 cubic meters/251 boxes of warm clothing, toys and educational material. Corporate sponsors gave in the range of two boxes all the way up to 60! Drop off points were arranged in Guomayin (过马营) Township, Guinan 贵南 County, Hainan 海南 Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai 青海 Province.
