Beside expat groups, what is the best way to make social connections outside of work?
If you speak French and are interested in making French friends, you can contact the local office of the Accueil des Villes Francaises (AVF). The AVF will keep you informed about cultural, social and sports activities organized in your neighborhood. To find the AVF closest to your home, contact your local city hall. Another option is Euronet International, an organization set up to connect international professionals and individuals of French and foreign nationalities with an interest in diverse cultures and global issues. Euronet hosts high-profile social events, speaker engagements and cultural events, including happy hours, dinners, picnics and museum tours. Funky Maps organizes "pub crawls" twice a month, in different areas of Paris, essentially for the young English-speaking crowd.
