Moscow Networking

How close-knit is the expat community in this area? How do I get involved with it?
It's a close community and tends to segregate itself by nationality (American/English, French, Italian, German, Finnish, Dutch, Asian, etc.). To become part of your local expat scene, enlist in one of the expat clubs or join a sport club.

Beside expat groups, what is the best way to make social connections outside of work?
Go to sport clubs or restaurants where foreigners go, such as the Scandinavia Restaurant, the Real McCoy, Bore House, Propaganda (a restaurant/nightclub), the News Pub or the Karma Bar.

Where can I meet other singles in this city?
Expat bars and cocktail parties are the best places to meet people. The Moscow Times, Life Style Magazine and Pulse all have listings of what's going on and where to go for networking.

Are there any unique networking opportunities for accompanying partners?
There is the Women's club as well as many sports clubs. Each community has its own calendar of social events. There are not many agents specializing in spouse support. It might be a good idea to contact local recruitment agencies, such as Staffwell or the CareerCenter.
