Would you like to make a career change? Do you wish to progress in your field? Nowadays, more and more people are considering relocating to another country to boost their careers. However, be careful with your choices, not all the places offer the same opportunities to be successful! According to the Expat Insider Survey carried out by InterNations, Latin American countries such as Ecuador, Colombia, and Mexico are some of the best countries for expats hoping to build a career abroad. Expats in Ecuador, for example, not only feel positive about their career opportunities in the country but also express general job satisfaction with their work. However, the top of the list is still dominated by English speaking countries. The USA wins the gold medal as the country with the best career prospects for expats – but apparently not the best work-life balance! The UK is the second best choice if you want to focus on boosting your career abroad – if you are willing to bear with a high cost of living! In fact, half of the respondents consider the local living expenses as a potential disadvantage for moving in the UK, and one in four expats survey states their disposable income is not enough to cover all their expenses in the country. On the other hand, seven out of the ten worst-rated countries for career prospects are located in Europe. These are: France, Spain, Finland, Portugal, Cyprus, Italy, and Greece. With the exception of Finland, these countries are located in the south of the countries, where the local national economies are suffering serious problems.
