Social security is mainly financed through taxes rather than through private insurance schemes as in many other European countries.

They do not normally do so. But in certain cases, treatment may be re-directed to another area where necessary.Top

There are two options:
- For urgent emergencies go to the local hospital's emergency department.
- For other illnesses, you should call Laegevagten and they will direct you to an appropriate doctor
