Macau Networking

How close-knit is the expat community in this area? How do I get involved with it?
There are no special social communities/organizations for expats in Macau. If the expat is a member of the Macau Golf & Country Club, they can socialize during golf. Otherwise, social communications often arise in the pub where expats can spend time in the evening.

Beside expat groups, what is the best way to make social connections outside of work?
If you enjoy sports, we suggest you go to places where people with similar interests gather. For sports like windsurfing and canoeing, you may meet people at one of the 2 beaches on the southern part of Coloane Island.

There are also golf clubs like the Macau Golf & Country Club, located on the south side of Coloane island and near the Western Resort Complex.

Where can I meet other singles in this city?
If you would like to enjoy the nightlife in Macau and meet westerners in the city, you may go to bars and pubs. You will find a great number of them along the Avenida Sun Yat Sen close to the Kum Iam Statue and the Cultural Center.

There are also some popular pubs on Taipa Island, opposite the Macau Jockey Club, with a casual ambiance that will make visitors feel at home. On Coloane, you can have a drink under the stars on the terrace of the Pousada de Coloane or sip a glass of port in the Westin Resort.
