Beside expat groups, what is the best way to make social connections outside of work?
There are many ways to meet people in Mexico City, from social scenes to volunteering at one of the many charities. Mexicans are social by nature and the restaurants, bars, and nightclubs reflect that.
One of the first things most expatriates notice is how the social life of the locals is the key aspect of life in Mexico City. Mexico City offers some of the best variety and quality of cuisine in the world. If you're planning a night on the town, you won't be disappointed. You'll find an abundance of restaurants, bars and nightclubs to choose from.
Another good way to meet people is by joining a health club (gym). No matter what your game, you'll find the right gym or sports club that best suits your needs. Some clubs even offer horseback riding and golf—you name it, we've got it!
There are also a large number of charities operating in Mexico. For the most part, they are well organized and run by foreigners. Some charities help disadvantaged children with their educational and medical expenses; some help poor families by providing them with food, toys and clothing; and some help disabled people, the homeless, the elderly, and orphans.
Where can I meet other singles in this city?
Mexico City offers an abundance of opportunities to meet with other singles, either through volunteering, sports activities, dining or dancing.
Are there any unique networking opportunities for accompanying partners?
Partners can also meet people by joining a group or volunteering their time to a local organization and/or charity. This is a great way to get out and meet new people.
