The weather in Japan

Japan is lovely in the spring, from March to May, when the sky is blue and sunny and the cherry blossoms blooming. During the summer months from June to August, the weather is hotter and it can get very sticky. Autumn, from September to November is cool, clear and dry. Winter, from December to February can be really cold and It snows in several places.

Things to do with children

There are quite a few amusement parks in Japan. One of the most attracting ones are Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo Disney Sea, Yomiuri Land and Yokohama Hakkeijime Sea Paradise. There are also small parks and nice places to ride on bikes or skates and enjoy a picnic.

You can also visit some of Japan’s most famous landmarks. If you’re located in Tokyo, you can climb up Tokyo Tower. The tallest tower in the world made of iron, it also has wax museum and an aquarium.

Sports

Most schools have sports teams you can join, specially If you like to play soccer or baseball. You can also take lessons in other sports like karate, kendo (fencing with wooden sticks), aikido and judo. It can also be a lot of fun watching a sumo wrestling match!

Travel around

There are many options to travel around the country. There are buses, subways, bicycles, taxis and trains. The best option are the trains, which are fast, clean, comfortable and come often. There are local trains and shinkansen, which are superfast bullet trains speeds of up to 167 mph or 270 km/h.

Eating in Japan

Everybody knows about sushi, but there are many other popular foods in Japan to which you will enjoy. You can also eat sembei (rice crackers), okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake), soba (buckwheat noodles) and tempura, deep-fried shrimp or vegetables. The popular drink is o-cha (green tea).

But if  you’re in the mood for something different, there are many other places to eat in Japan. You might easily find places like: Pizza Hut, McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
