Canada is making a major effort to attract foreign workers by introducing different visa programs to simplify the process of living and working in Canada. One of Canada's most interesting cities, Toronto, is close to the US border, about 15 miles from Buffalo. Toronto has a lot to offer its residents in terms of schools, accommodation, activities, entertainment, sports, dining and shopping. It is a multicultural city with over five million residents who are originally from more than 75 countries. Toronto is located on the shores of Lake Ontario and is Canada's financial centre. The city is relatively compact in size, you can explore by foot or you can use the well-developed tram network. The centre has the most modern buildings, but there are still some old and charming neighbourhoods such as the Distillery and Queens West. Toronto also has excellent excursions such as Niagara Falls, which may be suitable for a weekend of relaxation away from work. At the bottom of Lake Ontario is Air Canada Dome, home arena to the Maple Leafs, Toronto’s famous hockey team. One of the city's main attractions is the CN Tower, one of the West's tallest buildings. An exterior glass elevator takes you up 350 meters and the tower includes a revolving restaurant and a nightclub. It also has an exterior balcony with a glass floor, a great photo opportunity for those who dare. You can advance another 100 meters up the tower and see the United States and Niagara Falls. Restaurants Toronto has a wide variety of restaurants in all price ranges. A must is the "360" in the CN Tower with its magnificent view. For the steak lovers a classic favourite is the Barberian’s Steakhouse. Keg is a bit more modern and has three restaurants. The Works has a beautiful roof terrace, perfect in the summer and excellent burgers at great prices. In the Queen West neighbourhood you will find many interesting restaurants and bars. Toronto is sports mad and has many sports bars. The Real Sports Bar is large and modern, with giant screens. Wayne Gretzky's is a must for hockey fans, or why not try Loose Moose, a classic sports bar. Sports and entertainment Everyone loves sport in Toronto and the stadiums are centrally located. There is Hockey to see, with the Toronto Maple Leafs playing at the Air Canada Centre and baseball at the Rogers Arena, home of the Blue Jays. The Hockey Hall of Fame is a must for any hockey nerd. Toronto is the third largest theatre and musical city in the English-speaking world. Royal Ontario Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario are well-known museums.
